Very unlucky John, I thought you had a real chance of winning, but I guess the electorate have spoken. You certainly did very well though and hopefully it will not be the last time you stand.

Regarding the current situation of control; what do you think should happen? Foulkes is being arkward (there's a surpise) and putting it all on Jeff Green to make the moves, but surely Foulkes himself should start making some suggestions. One thing not in doubt is that the current lab-lib pact needs to be thrown out of the window - we've had enough of them. #

Your good friend Dave Green seems to be under a bit of pressure at the moment, if some of the comments I hear are true. I know that Jeff and a few others are rightly critical of some of the current adminstration and officers, and perhaps this means it will be time for change; We certainly need councillors who will hold the officers to account, unlike some of the liberals and labour councillors who only seemed to rubberstamp more and more proposals.

On that note, the mast issue, as you probably know, still creates a lot of resentment towards the council; especially when there was a whitewash of an investigation - how on earth could the independent investigation conclude there was "no evidence of wrongdoing" when they did not even get to interview the person who made the "mistake"? It would go someway to reassuring residents if a police investigation is authorised, which some of your group were pushing for. Hopefully if Jeff takes power, he might push for this invesitgation to take place, and even perhaps for the masts to be taken down - as I've said previously I personally don''t think they are a health threat, but the one in Heswall is certainly unpleasant on the eye and does nothing for people round here. There is also Ms Johnston living nearby who is having trouble with her pacemaker, and she may even have to move out of her home to recover he r quality of life ..... all because of council incompetence. The mast should be taken down, so she doesn't have to move house.... we look to councillors to represent people like her who have no voice against the current council bureaucracy... please tell Jeff and the others not to let us down!! I have every hope that they will indeed rise to to the task, and hold certain people at Wirral Borough Council responsible for their mistakes!
